I run my Workbench in 24-bit mode.
Couple of reasons:
I can use nice background pictures. Look at my desktop in
http://personal.inet.fi/koti/janne.karppanen/kuvat/workbench2000.jpg , with
OS 3.5 I don't need slow Newicons, I can use netbrowsers on workbench, I can
look pictures with multiview etc. I can even play 3D games (Wipeout 2097) in
window.
